[0001] [0001] The present invention relates to a charging and transportation system, it also relates to a movable small vehicle platform, and the method for operation of the charging and transportation system.
[0002] [0002] Some years ago chargeable batteries was expensive, heavy and not very competitive with non-rechargeable batteries. This has all changed now as chargeable batteries are ubiquitous.

Within the infrastructure, everything from large vehicles powered by rechargeable batteries to small electric vehicles such as skateboards, scooters, standing wheels, unicycles and more are battery driven. Operators are offering rental of electric bikes and small electric vehicles, with today's development of loT and app management from smartphones as catalysts the trend really speeds up.
[0004] [0004] A consequence of this development is that one has huge amounts of small electric vehicles spread throughout the community.
[0005] [0005] Operators provides rental of small electric vehicles, these small electric vehicles is driven by chargeable electric batteries. Moreover, the small electric vehicles is provided with position indicating means such as a GPS. The positioning means makes it possible to find the small electric vehicles for example with the use of a dedicated application on a smart phone. The operator may use the position information to collect small electric vehicles to charge them.
[0006] [0006] An operator will have a fleet of collecting vehicles, i.e. lorries or vans, which collects small electric vehicles such as electric scooters and delivers them at a central charging station. The small electric vehicles are manually loaded into the collecting vehicles and they are manually unloaded from the collecting vehicles one by one. Each single small electric vehicle is connected to a charging point at the central charging station.
[0007] [0007] Loading and unloading the small electric vehicles are time consuming and unproductive and it carries a risk of personal injury.

[0013] [0013] According to the present invention it is also disclosed a Charging and transportation system for small electric vehicles comprising: a) a means of transport with a cargo carrier; b) a small electric vehicle platform with fastening means for small electric vehicles, where each fastening means is associated with a charging point and where the small electric vehicle platform includes at least one connection point to the mains; c) a lifting device for lifting the small electric vehicle platform on and of the cargo carrier: d) a charging hub connected to the mains, where the charging hub further includes at least one mains supply connection for connection and supply of charging power to the small electric vehicle platform.
[0014] [0014] In yet another aspect of the invention it is disclosed a method for charging small electric vehicles comprising the steps of: a) collecting small electric vehicles; b) arranging the small electric vehicles on a small electric vehicle platform, the small electric vehicle platform being arranged on a means for transport with a cargo carrier; c) releasably fastening the small electric vehicles one by one to a dedicated fastening means, where each of the fastening means is associated with a dedicated charging point; d) transporting the means for transport to a charging hub; e) lifting the small electric vehicle platform off the cargo carrier; and f) electrically connecting the small electric vehicle platform to a charging hub connected to the mains, where the charging hub further includes at least one mains supply connection for connection and supply of charging power to the small electric vehicle platform.

[0023] [0023] In the following it is firstly disclosed general embodiments in accordance to the present invention, thereafter particular exemplary embodiments will be described. Where possible reference will be made to the accompanying drawings and where possible using reference numerals from the drawings. It shall be noted that the drawings are exemplary embodiments only and other features and embodiments may well be within the scope of the invention as described.
[0024] [0024] It is disclosed a small electric vehicle charging platform. One Purpose of the small electric vehicle charging platform is to distribute and collect its load — which as described can be devices with chargeable batteries, such as small electric vehicles. It can be provided with a locking mechanism to hold and secure the load. The small electric vehicle charging platform itself can also be designed with any measurements required for the specific object. The small electric vehicle charging platform can be loaded and unloaded with any type of warehouse inventory, such as fork lifts, cranes etc. The small electric vehicle platform may have connection to charge all electric devices that it carries. The small electric vehicle charging platform can also have a battery that recharges during connection to mains.
[0025] [0025] According to one embodiment of the present invention it is provided a small electric vehicle platform 10. The small electric vehicle platform 10 is a platform that is adapted to carry a number of small electric vehicles
[0026] [0026] The small electric vehicle platform 10 is provided with means to lift it on an off a cargo carrier 25. The lifting means can be handles, hook fasteners, suspension means or openings adapted to a forklift as shown in Figure 4.
[0027] [0027] The cargo carrier 25 can be a lorry, a van, in principle any carrier that has capacity to carry a full small electric vehicle platform. The small electric vehicle platform can be locked to the cargo carrier 25 for transportation to avoid that the small electric vehicle platform is sliding around on the cargo carrier.
[0028] [0028] With reference to Figure 4, several such small electric vehicle platforms can be loaded on to a cargo carrier 25 such as a platform body of a lorry. Each small electric vehicle carrier can be loaded onto the platform body and be arranged adjacent to each other with the forklift openings facing perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the platform body, this facilitates unloading and loading small electric vehicle platforms using a forklift 21. The small electric vehicle platform can as indicated above be provided with lifting means of different kinds so as to lift it using cranes, jacks or forklifts. In one embodiment the small electric vehicle platform is provided with wheels, this facilitates moving the small electric vehicle platform on the cargo carrier 25 for instance on a platform body. The platform body can be provided with a pallet which can lift and lower goods from the platform body. In one aspect the small electric vehicle platform can be unlocked from the platform body and wheels on the small electric vehicle body can be lowered so as to raise the small electric vehicle platform to rest on its wheels. The small electric vehicle platform can then be rolled onto the pallet and be lowered to the ground where it can be rolled to a desired location.
[0029] [0029] In another variant the unloading and loading of small electric vehicle platforms to and from cargo carriers 25 is carried out using a crane 21 with one or more hooks which is fastened to the small electric vehicle platform for lifting it on and off the cargo carrier 25.
[0030] [0030] Each charging point 12 is electrically connected to an electric junction box 13. The electric junction box 13 is a distribution box where each of the connected charging points 12 is connected to a low voltage supply. The electric junction box is connected to the mains with a socket 14. The electric junction box 13 can be provided with several transformers with a primary side connected to the mains. Also, the electric junction box 13 can be provided with surge protection, overheating fuses and a surveillance system which is configured to monitor charging of all the small electric vehicles 11 on the small electric vehicle platform 10. In figure 1 it is shown one electric junction box 13, however the small electric vehicle platform can be provided with several electric junction boxes 13.

Claims (7)
[1] 1. Small electric vehicle platform (10) comprising: a) a number n of charging points (12); b) a number n of fastening means for releasably fastening small electric vehicles (11) to the number n of fastening means; characterised in thatthe small electric vehicle platform further comprises: c) means (21) for lifting the small electric vehicle platform; d) at least one connection point (14) to the mains, where the at least one connection point (14) to the mains is electrically connected to the n charging points (12); each charging point (12) is connected to a top side of the small electric vehicle platform, each charging point (12) is associated with one fastening means and the fastening means are attached to the top side of the small electric vehicle platform (10).
[2] 2. A small electric vehicle platform according to claim 1, where the at least one connection point to the mains is electrically connected to a distribution box on the small electric vehicle platform, the distribution box being connected with the n charging points.
[3] 3. A small electric vehicle platform according to claim 3, where the distribution box includes at least one transformer with a primary side connected to the mains and the secondary side is connected with the n charging points.
[4] 4, A small electric vehicle platform according to any of the previous claims where the small electric vehicle platform further includes chargeable batteries for supply of charging current to the charging points.
[5] 5. Charging and transportation system for small electric vehicles (20) comprising:

A method for charging small electric vehicles (11) comprising the steps of: a) collecting small electric vehicles (200); b) arranging the small electric vehicles on a small electric vehicle platform, the small electric vehicle platform being arranged on a means for transport with a cargo carrier; c) releasably fastening the small electric vehicles one by one to a dedicated fastening means, where each of the fastening means is associated with a dedicated charging point (300); d) transporting the means for transport to a charging hub (800); e) lifting the small electric vehicle platform off the cargo carrier (900); and f) electrically connecting the small electric vehicle platform to a charging hub connected to the mains (1100), where the charging hub further includes at least one mains supply connection for
